Traditional Italian Biscotti con Vaniglia (Vanilla)

This beloved family recipe, graciously shared by my mother-in-law, Louise, is the perfect balance of sweet and delicate. It was her grandmothers recipe and about a century old. Typically the recipe called for Anise or Anissetta, but in this case we decided to adapt it to incorporate our very favorite flavor, vanilla or Vaniglia.
